Reasons Why Some Women Remains Single...... No one knows this better than Human Behavior Expert Wendy Walsh, Ph.D., who believes wholeheartedly that what men and women today need most is to just slow things down. Walsh insists her beliefs are based purely on scientific research and economics – all of which she tackles in her upcoming new book, The 30-Day Love Detox: Cleanse Yourself of Bad Boys, Cheaters, and Commitment Phobes, which hits stands this spring. “It’s a much-needed prescription for slow love at a time when everything is fast,” says Walsh. “This book is empowering women and telling them about the amazing creatures and goddesses they are and the power they have. It’s not about pointing out all of the mistakes that they make.” In the book, Walsh tackles the top 5 myths women operate on that, she believes, are still keeping them single. Intrigued, right? We were too. Grab your notebooks, as we ask Walsh to break it down for us. Myth 1: The Hookup Culture Is Everywhere These days, pretty much everyone’s having séx while dating, right? Wrong! “The hookup culture is more urban legend than reality,” says Walsh. A recent National Survey of Family Growth study showed one quarter of college students are vírgins, she offers. “If you take that 25 percent off the market, and then you look at what’s left over, you have this belief that most people are having more séx than they are,” explains Walsh. “Men included! Since the perceptions exist, many women feel pressured to have séx well before they’re ready.” Makes sense, right? But what about all of the women you know who speak openly and vividly about their séxual escapades? “It’s the talk that’s damaging, because it normalizes the practice,” insists Walsh. “These women engage in risky behavior because they think everyone is doing it.” Walsh offers an interesting analogy for what she feels is the “high supply séxual economy” we live in today: “I believe, when it comes to séx, there are two distinct dating markets: One ‘sells’ bulk séx at a low price, and that price could be the cost of a drink or a well worded séx, and the other sells séx to a very narrow market. And these are women who charge a high ‘price’ for séx, and that price can be love, attention, care or commitment. And, I like those ones.” Myth 2: Séxual Chemistry Helps Relationships When women are debating casual séx, many will say séxual chemistry is an important deal breaker for them. But, does it really determine whether your relationship will thrive or fail? Walsh says no-way. “Many women believe that jumping into bed very early in a relationship is the best way to test séxual compatibility,” she says. “I’m sure that men created this myth! If this theory were true, the people who did not test their séxual chemistry before committing to each other would therefore have shorter less happy relationships.” Walsh says a recent study she examined looked at 2,000 couples and when they committed to each other. The results showed that the better the séx early on, the worst the relationship outcomes later, and the more volatile those relationships were. “It’s because séx confuses the brain,” Walsh explains. “As soon as you get that rush of dopamine, you are not making good choices. You are not deciding if this is going to be a good partner for you, you are now diluted with feelings that he must be a good partner. Science says hot séx too early in a relationship is a prescription for disaster.” Myth 3: Women Have Séxual ‘Needs’ Women have their séxual “needs,” just like men do, right? Wrong again! Walsh says wanting séx is less physical and more psychological where women are concerned because they have very different séxual needs than men. “We respond to séxual opportunity,” she explains. “When we see a cute guy that we like, everything sort of turns on for us. But when women breakup from a séxual relationship, they are less likely to replace it with P0*nógraphy and masturbatión like a guy would.” For women, Walsh insists that feeling turned on by a man has an important psychological component. “It’s often an extension of their emotional need for companionship,” she explains. “Some research has found that women often desire to be desired, and that’s a whole lot different than a biological desire for any séx with anyone.” Still need more proof? Walsh compels you to ask yourself this, “Why haven’t drug companies been able to come up with a drug that enhances a woman’s séxual libído, only men’s?” Touché.

'FIFA 13' wasn’t broke, so 'FIFA 14' didn't fix it There aren’t any major new features to spotlight in FIFA 14, this year’s entry in Electronic Arts’ annual blockbuster franchise. That means this year’s game is a straight-forward iteration over last year’s, doing pretty much everything FIFA 13 did, just a bit better. (EA Canada) TitleFIFA 14PlatformXbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC (reviewed on Xbox 360)PublisherElectronic ArtsDeveloperEA CanadaESRB RatingE: EveryoneScore8/10 As the current console generation winds down, developers are doing one of two things. Either they’re throwing every resource they have into games in the hopes of putting exclamation points on the outgoing era, or they’re saving their big guns for the upcoming Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The second option looks to be the case withFIFA 14, this year’s entry in Electronic Arts’ annual blockbuster franchise. There aren’t any major new features to spotlight, which means this year’s game is a straight-forward iteration over last year’s. It does pretty much everythingFIFA 13did, just a bit better. Among those little touches are more precise movement and better-feeling shots, smarter teammate artificial intelligence and smoother dribbling. They’re very subtle improvements that you really only notice if you’re specifically looking for them, and they certainly don’t add up to as big a jump forward as last year’s game was overFIFA 12. The approach here seems to be “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” – and the game does work well. As with the past few entries, matches are almost as smooth, realistic and great-looking as the real thing, with bang-on commentary and an incredible amount of depth. You can play as legends such as Pele, or as never-will-be’s, like the guys on the Wisla Krakow team that I’ve been overseeing for a few years now. FIFA 14does indeed offer a ton of ways to play, from standard one-off matches to tournaments and full-on seasons. FIFA Ultimate Team is fast becoming my favourite mode, since it seems to be incorporating more role-playing and collectable elements. One of the tweaks in this year’s FUT is customizable chemistry styles for players. Rather than just boosting your team’s chemistry rating by putting players of the same nationality or team next to each other on the pitch, you can now also blend styles to get improvements. An “artist” who has great ball handling skills might work exceptionally well in setting up a “sniper,” for example. This can result in endless fiddling with stats, styles and upgrades, some of which can be improved or boosted through purchases – whether with in-game currency or actual money – or won through prize packs. Progressing through FUT, for example, nets you “card packs,” which include new players, upgrades and gear. If you enjoy RPGs likeSkyrim, the FIFA franchise looks to be heading in that direction – minus the dragons and arrows to the knee, of course. Another slick-but-subtle improvement is the interface itself. The menu system has been rejigged into a side-sliding set of tiles, not unlike what you might find on a tablet or smartphone. This makes navigating all the game’s modes and settings a breeze, which is helpful given the wealth of them. Otherwise,FIFA 14is the same, fundamentally great game thatFIFA 13was before it. Hard-core fans of the series will doubtlessly enjoy the latest instalment, but casual gamers who picked up last year’s won’t miss much by sitting this one out. There is, after all, a next-generation FIFA game to look forward to.
Chinese man has new nose grown on his FOREHEAD Chinese man has had a new nose grown on his forehead. The man, who has only been named as Xiaolian, had the treatment to create a replacement for his original nose which was infected and deformed. The procedure was carried out at a hospital in Fuzhou, Fujian province. The 22-year-old damaged his nose in a traffic accident in August 2012 but failed to seek treatment. As a result, an infection corroded the cartilage leaving the surgeons unable to repair it. They were left with no choice but to grow him a new nose and then to transplant it in place of his damaged one. The nose was created by placing a skin tissue expander onto Xiaolian’s forehead. This was cut into the shape of a nose and was supported by cartilage taken from the man’s ribs. Surgeons say that the nose has developed well and that the transplant surgery will be carried out soon.
ASUU’s strike: Ondo University threatens to pull out As the crisis between the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) continues unabated, the Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), in Ondo State, Prof. Femi Mimiko today threatened to call his students back to school if the two parties involved fails to resolve before the end of this month. Mimiko, who spoke with reporters at World Pharmacists Day held in Akure, the State Capital said the management has strategic plans to recall the students back to campus in the next few days. He stressed that the ongoing ASSU strike had affected the institution’s calendar, which for so many years has remained uninterrupted. The Vice Chancellor noted that there was an ongoing consultation between the workers and the management on the needs to resume work, if the strike continues. His words, “interruption of academic calendars is one of the problems we face with regards to this strike action. As you all noted, we manage to run the university for the past four years on an uninterrupted calendar. We are particularly concern about this strike because our academic calendar has been affected. “We are hoping that ASUU will do the needful to call off the strike as speedily as possible. We have come into the conclusion that in our own interest as a state university, we must begin to find a way to bring our students back. So we are hoping that the strike will be called off before the end of the month, otherwise we may begin to take some steps that will enable us bring our students back to the campus. “Well, we have a blueprint on the table that we are looking at. The important thing is that we are not going to allow our students to remain at home for so long than this. If the strike is not over within a few days, we may call back our workers. “Already, we are consulting with the lecturers because they are not employees of federal government. We do not have any substantive dispute with our workers on campus, so technically they should not have been on strike in the first instance. “Though, we are consulting, talking to members and hoping that all of us will drive in the same direction. That is what is our strategic interest as a state university that is funded by the state government and not the federal government”

The National Universities Commission says talks on the industrial action embarked upon by the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is moving progressively. The Chairman of the Commission, Professor Julius Okogie told journalists in Abuja that there will certainly be a resolution to the ASUU strike which has entered its 85th day. Professor Okogie however declined to comment on how far the talks has gone, but chose to underscore the need to review the curriculum in tertiary institutions to meet the economic and developmental needs of the country. There have been several talks that eventually ended in deadlock between the Federal Government’s Needs Assessment Committee and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), as parties refused to agree on crucial issues. However, reports have hinted that the recent sack of some ministers who include the Education Minster; is not unconnected to the mismanagement of the talks between the FG team and ASUU negotiators which dragged too long, as university students lounge at home wondering when it would be resolved.

Watermelon: The New s*x Drug For Men
Men hoping for some fireworks in their love life this Fourth of July may want to skip the burgers and beer at the barbecue and eat plenty of…instead. It turns out, watermelon may be a natural Viagra, says a researcher. That’s because the popular summer fruit is richer than experts believed in an amino acid called citrulline, which relaxes and dilates blood vessels much like Viagra and other drugs meant to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Until recently, many scientists thought most of the citrulline was in the watermelon rind. But now, experts have discovered that there is more citrulline in the edible part than previously believed. Why does this work? The amino acid citrulline is converted into the amino acid arginine. This is a precursor for nitric oxide, and the nitric oxide, a blood vessel relaxer that enhances circulation to all your vital parts. How much watermelon should you eat? A typical 4-ounce serving of watermelon (about 10 watermelon balls) has about 150 milligrams of citrulline.
